A New Chapter for Nature
Hello and welcome to Conservation BC!
We’re incredibly excited to introduce ourselves and officially launch this platform dedicated to one shared goal: protecting the natural beauty, biodiversity, and ecological health of British Columbia.
Conservation BC was born out of a deep love for this place we call home. From the towering cedars of the coastal rainforests to the rugged alpine peaks of the interior, British Columbia is one of the most ecologically rich regions on Earth. It’s a province of wild salmon runs, ancient trees, glacier-fed rivers, and thousands of species that depend on our care and stewardship. But this natural beauty isn’t just something to admire—it’s something we must actively protect.
Why We Exist
Our planet is at a critical crossroads. Climate change, habitat loss, pollution, and industrial development are placing unprecedented pressure on the environment. Here in British Columbia, the threats are real: old-growth forests are still being logged, endangered species like the spotted owl and mountain caribou face extinction, and entire ecosystems are being reshaped by warming temperatures.
We created Conservation BC to stand as a voice for the land, the water, and the wildlife that cannot speak for themselves.
Our goal is to empower British Columbians—individuals, communities, and decision-makers—to come together and take meaningful action. Whether it’s advocating for stronger environmental laws, supporting Indigenous-led conservation efforts, or engaging in local restoration projects, we believe everyone has a role to play in protecting BC’s natural legacy.

Why Now?
You may be wondering: Why launch this now?
The truth is, we can’t afford to wait any longer. The consequences of inaction are already here—wildfires, droughts, disappearing wildlife, and changing coastlines are no longer distant warnings; they’re today’s reality. But there’s also incredible momentum. More people than ever are waking up to the urgency of environmental protection. Communities are organizing, youth are leading, and Indigenous voices are finally being heard in powerful new ways.
We believe that British Columbia can be a model for what’s possible when conservation is taken seriously and inclusively. But it’s going to take all of us.
